We're sorry to hear that their fit isn't right for you, especially considering that you found the design otherwise very appealing.

Are your feet on the more voluminous side? In this case, the straps might be too short for you, and therefore moving the rough piece of the Velcro into a position where it gets in touch with your skin. We've received a similar feedback from other high-volume customers, and have therefore already updated our size recommendations to let customers know that Pathway is currently only suitable for low- to medium volume feet. Additionally, we are working on a revised strap length and Velcro placement for future batches of our Pathway sandal, to also suit feet with a slightly more voluminous instep. Our sincere apologies for this inconvenience!

A thin & flexible outsole (in Pathway's case with a stack height of 6.5 mm) is one of the main criteria of a barefoot shoe. It allows your feet to move naturally and receive the necessary sensory feedback from the ground, so you can adapt accordingly. This sensory feedback plays an essential role in postural stability and dynamic gait patterns. However, we understand that this should not interfere with a secure & comfortable fit. Often, when customers trip with minimalist sandals, it is actually due to too much sole material in front of your toes. For sandals, there is considerably less wiggle room required than for closed toe shoes. We therefore recommend double-checking with our printable Size Guide PDF at feelgrounds.com/sizing before ordering.

Additionally, the thin sole might take a while to get used to for a barefoot shoe beginner. If you're relatively new to minimalist footwear, please consider wearing your new barefoot shoes for short periods at first, and then gradually increase wear-time as your feet and body adapt to the changes.

In general, we offer a 30-day return policy for a full refund if the shoes are still without signs of wear. If you have tried on your Pathway indoors only so far, and feel like it isn't a great fit, you can check out our returns instructions in our returns' policy.
