Care Instructions

To clean your Patrol Winter remove all loose dirt with a soft shoe brush. If necessary, go in with a clean, soft shoe brush to apply some lukewarm water and a mild cleaning solution. Wipe any excess product with a moist cloth. Air dry at room temperature after cleaning or when the shoes got wet.

The Patrol Winter is not machine washable.

First rate supportive advice; great boots, 2nd pair.

I'm delighted to buy my second pair of Patrol Winters! I needed to buy 2 different sizes to see which suited my needs, and return one. I have to say I would have been bewildered without Sabine's gentle and unflagging advice. She
talked me through how the changes in my feet,
after long use of a smaller pair of PWs, might
mean I now needed my next pair to be larger.
And so it's proved. I'll continue wearing my first
pair, (Sand, from late 2021 and worn 3 seasons
a year, so far), but the new pair I'll keep mainly
for group walks, as the dark colour will attract
less comment about whether they're suitable!
Sabine was very helpful with the return, which
is a bit of a headache since the UK left the EU,
(terrible decision from which the UK is suffering). I wear only Patrol Winters and
Original Luxe, as they're both SO comfortable.
I wouldn't dream of wearing 'ordinary' shoes ever again.

Every aspect of this pair of boots has been properly taken care of to a high standard.

I can now enter the Great Debate as to what colour the Dark Olive really is. Dark certainly. Not green. Perhaps some olives are as dark as this, I don't know. For boots I like it.

I'm on my third winter of first edition (I think) 2021 Sand Patrols, and have loved them. But
now looking for bareoot hiking boots. The soles
of this edition seem to have been beefed up
and are stiffer, which is ideal for my purpose,
as rough and stoney ground is more demanding
than pavements, so I don't mind the degree of
loss of sense of contact with the ground,
compared to my older ones.

But my question mark is the width over the toes. At present it's tighter than my well-worn
Sands. I have to remove a couple of pairs of
thinnish socks I normally wear under thick ones
in order to feel adequate width space, with the new ones.

Should I size up to maintain sock-comfort, or
will the width soon stretch with use?

Given the extended use of your well-worn Patrol Winter boots, it's natural that the new boots may feel different, with the sole appearing stiffer and potentially tighter. As you continue to wear the boots, the faux leather is likely to gradually give and adjust.

Furthermore, it's worth considering that your toes may have naturally expanded from wearing barefoot shoes, a change that might not be as noticeable with your older Patrols. If you prefer to wear thicker socks and find the new boots too snug, sizing up could be an option. Please keep in mind that going up a size generally provides more room, but it may result in a fit that's too large. If you remain uncertain, feel free to order the Patrol Winter in the next size, compare the fit of both pairs, and return the less suitable pair for a refund within 30 days if they are still unworn.
